Each book is prepared and sent with the intention that it will be received as it was meant to be — whole, intact, and enduring. Because of the nature of books, returns and exchanges are limited. The guidelines below set forth the rare circumstances under which they may be considered.
II. Damaged or Defective Items
If, despite our care, your book arrives damaged or flawed, please notify us within 5 days of delivery at contact@cavendishpierrelouis.com. Kindly include:
-
Your order number
-
Clear photographs of the damage or defect
-
A brief description of the issue
Once your request has been reviewed and approved, you will be asked to return the original copy. Upon receipt, a replacement will be sent to you at no additional cost.
III. Non-Returnable Situations
Please note that returns or exchanges cannot be honored in the following circumstances:
-
Minor imperfections (such as light scuffs to the cover during transit) that do not affect the integrity or readability of the book.
-
Claims submitted more than 5 days after delivery.
-
Requests lacking valid photographic evidence of the damage or defect.
-
Books that show signs of use or handling beyond initial delivery.
-
Orders delayed or lost due to circumstances outside our control, including carrier disruptions or customs procedures.
-
Shipments addressed incorrectly or incompletely at checkout.
If you have any questions, please write to contact@cavendishpierrelouis.com, and each case will be reviewed with care.
Our intention is always to ensure that what you receive is a book worthy of being kept.
IV. Return Shipping
If a return is approved, the cost of sending the book back rests with the customer. We do not provide prepaid return labels, nor are we responsible for return shipping fees. We recommend using a trackable service to ensure the book reaches us safely.
Our responsibility begins once the returned copy is received and verified; at that point, a replacement will be sent at no additional cost.
V. Returns & International Orders
Please note that returns from outside the United States are subject to additional conditions. The cost of return shipping, including customs duties, import taxes, and handling fees imposed by carriers or border authorities, remains the responsibility of the customer. We cannot accept liability for parcels delayed, held, or refused at customs, nor for any additional charges that may arise in the course of international return.
If you choose to return an item from abroad, we recommend using a trackable, insured service to ensure the book arrives safely. Only once the returned item has been received and inspected in its original condition will a replacement or resolution be considered.
Each book departs not as a parcel, but as a vessel — carrying words meant to arrive where they are most needed. The policies that frame its passage exist to protect both sender and seeker, yet beneath them lies a simpler truth: reverence for the written word, and for the soul that chooses to receive it.
VI. Tracking
Domestic Returns
When sending a return from within the United States, we recommend using a trackable shipping service to ensure your parcel’s safe arrival. Tracking information must be shared with us upon dispatch so we may confirm its receipt. We cannot assume responsibility for parcels lost or untracked during return transit.
International Returns
For returns originating outside the United States, we strongly encourage the use of insured, trackable shipping methods. Customs declarations must clearly indicate the shipment as a return to prevent unnecessary duties or delays. Tracking details must be provided to us once available. Please note that customs delays or fees remain beyond our control, and return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
Once the returned item has been received and verified, a replacement or resolution will be issued as outlined in our Return Policy.
Each return is treated not as a formality but as a continuation of our dialogue — the careful exchange between author and reader, sender and seeker. Tracking simply allows both to remain connected until the story finds its rightful place once more.
VII. Contact & Correspondence
For matters concerning returns or exchanges, please reach us at
contact@cavendishpierrelouis.com.
In your message, include your order number, photographs of the item (if applicable), and a brief description of the issue so that we may assist you promptly and with precision.
We review every case with consideration and fairness, honoring the intention behind each purchase. Although policies exist to provide structure, each return is approached as a dialogue — one rooted in respect for both the written work and the reader who receives it.
Should your inquiry involve an international return, kindly specify your country of origin and tracking reference, allowing us to provide clearer guidance on customs or transit procedures.
